The Modesto Police Department's Traffic Safety Unit is currently investigating a fatal traffic accident that occurred last night at West Briggsmore Avenue and Carver Road in Modesto, California. The incident involved a pedestrian being struck by a vehicle while crossing Briggsmore Avenue. The pedestrian was taken to a nearby hospital but, tragically, did not survive the injuries sustained. The driver of the vehicle involved in the accident remained at the scene and cooperated with authorities. The identity of the pedestrian has not been shared publicly at this time.
