Modesto Aquatics Program Sets Record with 2,136 Swimmers

Staff Report / Modestolocal.org

The City of Modesto's Parks, Recreation, & Neighborhoods department is celebrating a successful summer at the pool, with a record-breaking 2,136 swimmers participating in Aquatics classes. This achievement marks the highest number of participants in a single season. The community's support was essential in making this accomplishment possible.

Swimming is not only a fun activity but also a crucial life-saving skill. Water safety is paramount, and the department is proud to equip individuals with the knowledge and confidence to stay safe in various water environments. The ability to swim can make a significant difference in ensuring safety during activities such as pool visits, beach outings, or boating trips.

The Modesto Irrigation District played a vital role by co-sponsoring the Learn to Swim program, demonstrating their ongoing support for the community. The dedicated Aquatics team worked tirelessly to make the summer a success, contributing to the overall achievement.

The department expresses gratitude to all involved for their contributions to an unforgettable summer. Looking ahead, they are committed to their mission of promoting safety, health, and enjoyment in the water in Modesto. The department looks forward to welcoming participants again next year for another successful season.
