Marion County Library celebrates businesses for cardholders
Staff Report / ocalalocal.org
The Marion County Public Library System in Ocala, FL, is celebrating Library Card Sign-Up Month this September. They are promoting partnerships with community businesses where library cardholders can receive treats. In the past, according to #FloridaMemory, bus drivers who brought tourists to Silver Springs were given meals and their families received free passes to rides and shows. A photo from 2001 depicts two women placing a Silver Springs bumper sticker on a Greyhound bus. More details on the current community partners offering benefits to library cardholders can be found at https://librarycat.marionfl.org/sweet. #MarionMonday #LibraryCardSignUpMonth #DaytonaBeach #Greyhound #SilverSprings
