Officer Walker Honored, Murder Convict Sentenced to Life
Officer John C. Walker, badge number 150, was honored today in remembrance of his service. On November 30, 1979, Officer Walker was fatally shot in his vehicle at Tucson International Airport while working on an undercover drug investigation. Authorities later apprehended the suspect, Genaro Celaya, who was found in possession of Officer Walker’s flash roll. Celaya was subsequently convicted of murder and sentenced to life in prison.
