**Fire Fest Brings Awareness to Prescribed Burning in Sarasota County**

Sarasota County is hosting "Fire Fest," a family-friendly event that aims to educate visitors on the role of fire in natural land management. Part of Prescribed Fire Awareness Week, the event highlights how fire is carefully and effectively utilized to maintain ecological balance and reduce wildfire risks.

Fire Fest is organized by Sarasota County Emergency Services and showcases various demonstrations and activities to educate attendees about prescribed burns. Prescribed burns are a controlled use of fire to manage vegetation, support wildlife habitats, and minimize hazards by reducing excess underbrush on public lands.
