**Celebrating Dedication: Meet Mrs. Marisi, Sarasota's Teacher Tuesday Honoree**

This week's Teacher Tuesday spotlight shines on Mrs. Marisi, an Adult General Education Teacher at Suncoast Technical College in North Port. With an impressive 33 years of experience, Mrs. Marisi has dedicated her career to guiding GED® Prep students toward success. Teaching runs in her family: her father was a teacher and coach, while her mother served as an administrative secretary in the school system. After undergoing a life-changing jaw surgery, Mrs. Marisi decided to pursue teaching, a career path she has embraced wholeheartedly ever since.

Mrs. Marisi has a unique way of celebrating her students' achievements. When a student passes their HSE (GED®) test, she ensures the moment is special—complete with a cap-and-gown photo, a graduation tassel, and a discussion about their future goals. This effort ensures that every graduate feels valued and acknowledged for their hard work.

Teaching students ranging in age from 16 to 86, Mrs. Marisi's personalized approach allows individuals to progress at a pace that works for them. She considers her role both rewarding and challenging, as each student has their own story and reason for returning to education. Despite their different backgrounds, all her students share a common goal: earning their diploma and striving for a better future.

Her dedication to education has even come full circle—a memorable moment for her was receiving news that one of her former graduates went on to become her daughter’s teacher. Outside of the classroom, Mrs. Marisi has another talent: she was once a trained opera singer and music teacher, showcasing her diverse skills and passion for the arts.

Mrs. Marisi’s story highlights the profound impact a teacher can have on their students’ lives, making her an inspiring choice for Teacher Tuesday.
