Illegal Trash Dumping in Modesto May Cost You $1,000

Staff Report / Modestolocal.org

In Modesto, California, residents are being reminded that improperly disposing of waste can have a significant financial impact. According to the City Hall of Modesto, any person who is caught dumping trash illegally is subject to a fine of $1,000.

The city is urging residents to use the correct procedures and facilities for disposing of waste in an effort to avoid fines and keep the community clean. They argue it is a much more cost-effective solution than facing penalties.

Furthermore, the city is asking community members to report any instances of illegal dumping they witness in their local areas. They're encouraging the use of ModestoGo, an application, or to visit their website at https://www.modestogov.com/2615/Illegal-Dumping to report such incidents.

The ongoing message from the city to its residents is simple: If you see illegal dumping happening, make sure it's reported. All residents are responsible for helping to maintain cleanliness in the community.
