Modesto Police Arrest Five in Organized Retail Theft

Five individuals were arrested by Detectives of the Modesto Police Department's Property Crimes Unit in connection to two organized retail theft incidents at Dick's Sporting Goods. The first incident involved Nyeisha Jackson and Robert Glover from Stockton, who stole over $1,000 in merchandise before being apprehended in Stockton. The second theft, which happened shortly after, saw Miguel Ortiz, Joey Granados, and Tamicka Jones stealing nearly $1,000 in merchandise. All suspects were taken into custody and booked into the Stanislaus County Public Safety Center on charges related to organized retail theft. The Modesto Police Department, in collaboration with local retailers like Dick's Sporting Goods and the Stanislaus County District Attorney's Office, is committed to combating organized retail theft in the community. Crime in Modesto has seen a 4% decrease compared to the previous year.
