On August 7, 2024, the Modesto Fire Department responded to a residential fire at the 3700 Block of Troon Place. Engine 9 was initially dispatched for an unknown fire, but on the way, the incident was upgraded to a working residential fire, prompting additional response from Engines 1, 3, 21, 23, Quint 22, Medic 1, and Fire Investigation Unit (FIU), along with Battalion 1 and 2.

Upon arrival, Engine 9 observed heavy fire on the “C” side of a single-story house, with flames extending into the building. Meanwhile, Engine 23 and Battalion 2, passing nearby Cost Less Market, reported that trees on the backside of the property were also on fire, which posed a threat to nearby commercial buildings. Engine 23 was tasked with extinguishing the fire on the “C” side and protecting the adjacent exposures.

Fire crews operated in offensive mode to contain the incident, and they worked for some time to overhaul the area and ensure that the fire was completely extinguished.
