The Modesto Police Department held the annual Battle of the Badges softball tournament yesterday, raising $3,400 for the Healthy Room Project. This nonprofit organization works to create safe spaces for at-risk youth by providing them with bedroom furniture.

The tournament was organized by MPD Investigator Daniel Beauchene and Officer Geoff Crowley. Modesto Fire Department won the tournament, with Stanislaus County Custody finishing in second place.

Participating teams included:

- StanCo Sheriff Custody

- Stanislaus County Sheriff's Office (Patrol)

- Modesto PD (two teams)

- Oakdale Police Department

- CHP - Modesto

- AMR Stanislaus County

- Modesto Fire Department

Sponsors for the event included MPOA, Play It Again Sports, Performance Advantage, Trophy Works, MetCon Construction, Smoking Guns Athletics, Roy Browning Silvermane Productions, Easton Sports, and Whitehursts McNamara Funeral Service. Their support contributed to the success of the tournament.
