Teen Found Dead, Woman Suspected Suicide in Modesto

**Modesto Police Department News Release**

**Modesto, CA – October 24, 2024**

On October 24, 2024, at approximately 9:42 AM, the Stanislaus Regional 911 received a call for a security check at a residence on Citrus Drive in Modesto. The caller expressed concern that a female resident had not reported to work, which was out of character for her. A neighbor also noted that the woman had not been seen for several days.

Officers responded to the scene and, upon entering the home forcibly, they discovered a 17-year-old male with a gunshot wound. He was pronounced dead at the scene. Additionally, the female resident was found deceased with what appears to be a self-inflicted gunshot wound. A handgun was located near her.

At this time, there are no outstanding suspects in connection with this incident, and the names of the deceased are being withheld.
