**Prescribed Burn Scheduled for Today at T. Mabry Carlton Jr. Memorial Reserve**

[Sarasota County, FL] – The Sarasota County Fire Department and the Parks, Recreation, and Natural Resources Department have announced plans to conduct a prescribed burn today, December 27, 2024, at the T. Mabry Carlton Jr. Memorial Reserve in Venice. The burn is scheduled to begin after 10:30 a.m., weather and conditions permitting.

This activity is part of ongoing land management efforts to reduce wildfire risks and promote ecological health in the area. Residents in surrounding areas may notice smoke while the burn is underway. The departments will monitor conditions closely to ensure safety and effectiveness.
