Seamless Admissions Streamlines College Access for Students
Staff Report /
**Seamless Admissions Program Opens Doors for Students at Indianapolis Public Schools**
Indianapolis Public Schools (IPS) is helping its students streamline their path to higher education through the Seamless Admissions program, a groundbreaking partnership with Indiana University Indianapolis (IU Indianapolis). This initiative enables IPS seniors who meet certain qualifications to gain automatic admission to IU Indianapolis by submitting a simple online form, bypassing traditional application requirements and fees.
For Kevin Lopez, a graduate of Arsenal Tech High School, this program eased the stress of navigating the college application process. Now in his first year at IU Indianapolis, Kevin recalled how daunting applying to college seemed at first. “At one point, I wasn’t too sure if I could go to college,” he shared. “I would always hear about how stressful it was to apply for college, how you have to write an essay. I wasn’t too sure how I would do all that.”
The program is addressing a widespread challenge in Indiana, where only about half of high school seniors pursue college after graduation. By removing common obstacles such as fees and time-consuming application processes, Seamless Admissions provides a clearer and more accessible pathway to higher education for IPS students.
Programs like this are proving essential in helping students like Kevin turn their academic goals into reality. Seamless Admissions reflects efforts to make college more attainable for underserved communities, offering hope and opportunity to students across Marion County.
